Lal Dincer – Counsellor

Lal Dincer is a counsellor who works with adults experiencing concerns including anxiety, panic, depression, grief, loss, life transitions, and adjustment difficulties. She is particularly interested in exploring how culture, identity, belonging, and life circumstances shape emotional well-being, with a focus on supporting immigrants and international students navigating questions of identity, connection, and change.

Her approach is integrative and grounded in curiosity, acceptance, and self-discovery, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and intercultural perspectives. She is interested in helping clients understand not only what they are experiencing, but also how their personal histories, relationships, and environments have shaped the ways they respond to life’s challenges. Together, she explores how clients can make room for difficult emotions without allowing them to define their lives, reconnect with their values, and move toward choices that feel more authentic and meaningful. She strives to create a space where clients can show up as they are, without pressure to have all the answers.

Lal provides services in English and Turkish. We are pleased to have her as part of the MindSession team, bringing her academic background in mental health, ongoing specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, and warm, culturally sensitive approach to supporting clients.
